Well, tonight I finished the first book in my dystopian horror fantasy series.
Phew... I began the book three years and three months ago and I am still a long way to go, but I hope the next two books don't take as long, or the all series will take ten years! (Unless I decide to make it into a seven book epic - and then it will be twenty odd years!) I will read book 1 through, then work on the next in the series. I aim to have them all finished (barring a few re-writes) before I seek out a publisher for them. I don't intend to do it myself - it is fun that way, but hard work and there are so many out there doing that now, that there is too much choice for the reader...
Of course, in that three years I have worked on the So.. I met series as well. But that's the thing about being a writer - you can have several different books and projects going on at once.
I have ideas for book two and intend to make a start soon.
What else have I been doing, you may say? I started a blog about my hill walking, which you can see in a link below. I have been working on a few screenplays and writing poems and have written a short story.
I also have any idea for... So... I Met a Witch!
Another update soon...

Welcome to '19
Happy New Year to all my friends and readers!
2018 was busier than I thought it would be, with two books published. These were So... I Met a Werewolf (the last in my So... I Met series) early in the year and then Langfield in November.
I say last in the So... I Met series, but I am not sure if it will be the last ever. I certainly don't have any ideas for a book six, but inspiration can strike you when you least expect it. Langfield was a surprise as I wrote the first few drafts years ago and in the Summer picked it up again and thought, this is pretty good, so I edited it and updated it and it is out now.
I also updated the cover of So... I Met a Ghost and will be looking at updating the rest of the covers for this series in the coming year along with the two story collections.
2018 also saw me doing a spot of voice acting for my mate Mark Johnson's awesome film Plague Angels. Go and have a look at it, it's great.
But what of 2019?
Well, I don't know really. I have been writing a few short stories and working on some screenplays and poems, and have some new ideas for my dystopian horror book. But I can't see much in the way of novels out in 2019.
Anyway, have a great new year and all the best!

Where it all Began
The first in the So... I Met Series.
So... I Met a Ghost
By Paul McAvoy
“Well written, characterised and plotted…”
“Suspense, action, humour and just a touch of sadness…”

Not only was I going to try to save her from her hunter, but also try to help her move on, go into the light, and all that. Not much to ask, seeing as I was a teenager, was it! In the process I would learn that the ‘unknown’ was pretty clear, and that some men can be more evil than anything conjured up by the wildest of imaginations.
So… I met a Ghost is a sometimes creepy, sometimes funny short novel for young adults by author Paul McAvoy. A page-turner… you will not want to draw breath until the last page is read…
